Pharmaq Analytiq contributes with services within fish welfare, by documenting smolt quality, and fish health work, with a focus on monitoring of and prevention of infection and disease in Norwegian and international fish farming. In 2018, we opened a new laboratory in Bergen aimed at future diagnostic methods. In 2020, we established a new fish health lab in collaboration with the blue innovation cluster InnovArena in Rørvik. In July 2020, Fish Vet Group became part of Pharmaq Analytiq, and we now have a total of around 100 employees.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Develop, validate, implement and commercialise molecular biological analyses with a focus on NGS
  • Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of bioinformatics pipelines and databases for community analysis
  • The work will primarily be related to bioinformatics, but some practical analytic work may also be expected
  • You will also be responsible for guiding colleagues and customers
  • Have a good collaboration with our laboratory engineers, product developers, sales and R&D, as well as with Zoetis’ global ITS department


Qualifications and profile:

  • Master's degree or equivalent in bioinformatics or similar
  • Experience with one or more programming languages ​​(such as Python, Perl, or R)
  • Experience with genetic engineering methods and method development - and knowledge of relevant computer tools
  • Knowledge of the establishment and maintenance of bioinformatics pipelines and databases
  • Knowledge of epidemiological tracking tools: software for analysis, interpretation, databases and statistics
  • Experience with statistics, collection, processing, compilation, linking and production of big data
  • Experience with aquaculture and fish health, as well as knowledge of microbial ecology, is an advantage
  • You must be a team player in an environment characterised by high pace, and at the same time be good at ensuring progress on your own.
  • You love analytical work, you are structured, responsible, flexible, curious, solution-oriented and have great work capacity
  • Good Norwegian and English skills, both written and oral.
